Cancer- the process of eating away of stone in a way depicts the people who were a part of life but are no more and have left a overbearing painful past. It has malignant character of cancer, which keeps coming back even when you cut it aside or break free of it for the time being. It is inescapable and successfully kills the inner self.
The paper pulp medium gives me the liberty to express myself in an innovative manner and the embedding-embossing of various elements; providing opportunities for expressing. In a way the new medium is good and I can find more possibilities as it has made me more sensitive in my thought process. Embossing with the fragile objects like leaves, which are tender like life and breakable on the harsh touch.
Life is complicated, entangled, confused and all this initially though not seen in my works by myself but on facing them again and again changes my own perception of them.
Delicate threads against the bold black background depict the expressiveness of the eyes. The combination of boldness with a touch of delicacy adds to the whole beauty of it. Inside-outside textures were only a visual experience. Feel free gives a feeling as if I can breathe in the air and not suffocate.
Choosing to work in the glass medium as well is because I am fascinated by the transparency and the layers that can be created by stacking them over and over and adding and sandwiching different materials in between.
