WORKING AS A FREELANCE ARTIST.
I am very much touched by intellectuals and well wishes around me. Sometimes they look like headless animals, talking and discussing their views endlessly, nobody is listing to other, slowly the societies gossiping habit becomes part of my work.
I think modern man is caught in an intellectual prison of his own making and his mind has been heavily deluded into false notions of life making it all most impossible for him to see as they are.
The effect of gossiping are really interesting where things are decorated and presented forward. Some times we get so much involved into it and forget our human nature and start behaving like animal this is clearly shown in my works
If you have to name an organ in the human body that has the potential to create the most damage to yourself and others it is the tongue. You eat too much and that’s a problem. You speak too much and that’s problem too!
In many of works the tongue take on the role of multi, mealy mouth loud speakers all most covering the head of human / animal like medusas innumerable serpents, wriggling their way up from here and their so that each spoken and hissed word his broadcast to the farthest paint in every direction. I try to explore some interesting vocal symbols to rain force the point I try to make. Harshness of words that can hurt, mutilate and bleed is highlighted by images of sharp knives and blades. Pointed knives that are woven through the thread work of course the popular image of the loud speaker and is also their for broad casting the gossips. In some works these are replaced by the inconspicuously placed ghunghroos they make less noise then the loud speakers but their sharp and deliberate tinkles can achieve their purpose with single minded focus. Some works are enhanced with a little bit of careless embroidery here and there, indicating how an insignificant piece of gossipy information goes on to become juicier and spicier as the facts get embroidered while being passed on to more and more people. Then at tongue – in – cheek level I paint the lively glow that gossiping brings to the face of the gossipers. Gossiping is like waxing, rapping, polishing, Shaping and buffing your body that makes you fair. Sometime too much too spiteful gossiping can reduce humans to behaving like animals so my two headed animals snap and lunge their loudspeaker heads shaking about this way and that.
Most of my works are on canvas there i used acrylic colors and thread embroidery that of decoration and visual attraction and shows how beautifully we use sharp words and hurt others. I did some experimental works on my level using wire with thread in some places parallely I did works on paper using dry pastels and water colors and blob of varak (Paper thin beaten silver foil used to decorate Indian sweets)
